1. North Korea
Death by firing squad is what
a rapist can expect in North Korea as his punishment. This country’s line of
justice is not very clear and hence firing squad is used as a cover up.
2. France
The French are pretty hardcore about
their rape laws. They hand out 15 year sentences for rape, which can be
extended to 30 or life depending on the extent of damage and brutality.
3. Egypt
Punishment of rape in Egypt is death
by hanging. This country still follows the old school method for punishment but
rape is one crime that deserves death.
4. Israel
16 years in prison or sometimes life
imprisonment is what a rapist can expect as his punishment in Israel. Same
punishment is awarded to anyone found guilty of any form of sexual assault.
5. Norway
Any kind of sexual activity without
the consent of both is regarded as rape in Norway. Punishment of rape in this
country is an imprisonment of 4-15 years, depending on the extent of damage.
6. Saudi Arabia:
When it comes to punishment, Saudi Arabia is the strictest one. It is an
Islamic country and all its laws and regulations are as per the Islamic Sharia
laws. If a person is found guilty of rape or any sexual assault he is beheaded
in public. The body and the head is then stitched together and buried in a
grave. The punishment is same for both men and women if they commit the crime.
Also there is a provision for execution through stones. If a person commits
rape stones are showered upon him until he dies. This death is not easy and
quick but more painful, and the criminal has to suffer until he dies.
7. China:
In China a rapist is given a death penalty. Capital punishment is given for
committing a rape by firing a bullet at the spinal cord, below neck, leading to
death. The execution rates are way too high here. Prosecution is so fast that
four men who were executed for committing rape, were proved innocent after
couple of years! Castration, a surgical action in which a biological male loses
the use of testicles, is also used as a punishment for rape. This causes
sterilization and as a result the male cannot reproduce again.
8. Iran:
Iran provides justice to the rape victim by giving death penalty to the
rapist. They have the provision to hang the person to death. 10 to 15% of
executions carried out in Iran are of rape cases. Sometimes the case is settled
down by permission of the victim, providing her with compensation. The guilty
escapes death penalty but is still liable for 100 lashes or life imprisonment.
9. India:
In India Rape was not considered to be a major crime. Generally The rapists were given punishment, up to seven years of imprisonment. But after the Anti Rape Bill passed by the Indian Parliament in April 2013, a rapist can be given a life imprisonment or even hanged till death.
